My name is Ryan. I come from the United Kingdom.
My background is studying history, which has given me a solid foundation in giving presentations and writing academic papers as that’s 90% of what the subject requires.
I have specialised in teaching English as a second language, having done TEFL, TESOL and most recently CELTA in order to further improve my ability in teaching adults.
In my classroom I am a big believer in student engagement, and every lesson I try to have as much interaction with and give as much feedback as possible to my students.
I bring the benefits of having taught students of all ages for 10 years, into my class. I love teaching and helping students make progress; I feel excited to go to work every day to meet the students at this university.
When not at work, I am generally studying Chinese, doing weightlifting or occasionally archery, watching movies/TV and exploring Beijing.
I’m also a big fan of reading and love books like Lord of the Rings and The Three Body Problem.
I hope to learn the piano and how to become a better archer.
